Summary0006242: Crash from destroyed minecart still assigned to route
DescriptionUsing DwarfBuilder version of 34.11 on OSX. I've managed to create a save-point which seems to crash very quickly upon loading. Unsure of crash reason. Used DFHack for simple editing (replacing layers, getting adamantine early), Dwarf Therapist was used to manage labor, but not squads (all of which have been disbanded just in case).

If you open the hauling routes menu, you will see next to your Refuse Express rote a red 'V', but no percent. This is because apparently the minecart was destroyed or something. You need to immediately assign a new cart to that route before unpausing, and that will fix the crash. The problem is basically that there is a cart assigned to the route, but it is invalid, so when it tries to access the cart, it crashes.

Only you can guess why the cart might have disappeared.

Ah hah! The I saw something in the log earlier in the game about a minecart being stolen. I assume there's a bug that when a minecart assigned to a route is stolen it will cause the game to crash when that route is used. Thanks for the heads up!

I got a crash where a XXwooden minecartXX assigned to a refuse incinerator (magma pit) finally burnt up completely from frequent exposure to magma mist, so it is not only stealing that triggers this.

 I got a crash due to a thief making away with a minecart assigned to a hauling route as well. See 0007752

I made a cart destroyer and got clean cancellations on the jobs and no subsequent crash. It would be good to have a report against this on 0.40+, since I can't get it to happen.

 Given the lack of subsequent reports and the resolution of 0008278, I'll resolve this one too. If anyone can reproduce this, please PM me or another manager (list at http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=63640.0) on the forums to reopen this report.
