after further investigation, dropped soil walls retain the 'soil' designation, but change type to fit with the layer. if any digging is done into the clay, the remains will change to stone. clay floor---->channel ----- clay walls---->diorite floor and ramps ----- clay walls---->mine---->diorite floor |

It pretty much is that bug. The mention of aquifers in that bug report doesn't mean it only happens in aquifers (and Quietust's note pretty much states that aquifers are just along for the ride rather than the cause), and they aren't even mentioned in the existing duplicate. So, resolving this as a duplicate. |
