Summary0006464: Merchants forget how wagons move
DescriptionI built a moat around my fortress, including the trading post, an made a bridge 6 tiles wide. The merchant refuses to use a wide enough bridge, and instead just slowly goes insane. Seriously, he just crawls around the trade depot and babbles until he dies (or goes into a rage and kills my dwarves). He can clearly leave the map; he just doesn't want to.

Steps To Reproduce1. Build an above-ground trading post
2. Wait for a merchant and his wagon
3. Build a moat around the trading post (liquid or not doesn't matter)
4. Quickly make a bridge wide enough for the wagon to cross out of any material
5. Wait until the trader has packed up and is trying to leave
6. See if he even moves
Additional InformationThe only mod I was using was a graphics pack.
I tried this 10 times, and the bug(?) occurred 4 out of 10 times.
I also used the same fortress with a backup folder.

It sounds like the merchant was already insane by the time you opened a route. Once they're gone insane (or melancholy or berserk), they won't leave. That's intentional.

If you have a save that shows a non-insane merchant refusing to leave, please upload it to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ and reopen this report.
