| Description | A couple times now I've attempted to be an adventurer in a fort I previously ran, however, upon starting, the game crashes instead with a big white box appearing. I am not sure if this is happening on PC versions as well, but given other issues regarding retired fortresses, I would think so. | ||||

This happened to me, and I made a separate bug report because I can't seem to use google-fu very well, but it does not always seem to happen. I'm running some tests. |

To follow up on those saves: trying to play as that adventurer that I retired to the fortress caused the game to crash. |

Toady mentioned there were crashes related to low-pop necromancer towers 0006995: could this be the same low-pop problem? |

I'm not able to reproduce this now, either with the posted method or with the saves, after some possibly related crash fixes. Those would be location/world dependent though, so we're probably wait-and-see with this for next time. |

I was able to reproduce this in 0.40.03 using a save posted by Wrbrgrgl at 0007312: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=8980 |

I found two issues in the 0007312 save which would be either always or most always associated to retired forts, so hopefully this'll work for next time. |
