Summary0007008: Becoming a vampire does not double your stats
DescriptionIf this is an intended change, it didn't appear in the changelog, but it's possible. I know Toady balanced some other things he didn't mention in the patch notes, like halving 2H swords' stab penetration.

It's just as the title says - in DF2012 becoming a vampire would double your attributes, but it doesn't in DF2014. I am positive I am a vampire, because I have the 'blood vision' and can suck the blood of creatures and humans, but my stats have remained the same as before.

Unless the difference between 'superior' and 'superhuman' is now so large that doubling your stats doesn't cause them to roll over to 'superhuman', vampires don't get stat doubling any more in DF2014.
Steps To ReproduceStart an adventurer and track down a vampire (legends .xml dump helps with this - also, they tend to become law-givers or otherwise gravitate towards positions of authority) then drink some of their blood. You will become a vampire but none of your stats will be doubled.
Additional InformationNot sure if this has anything to do with it, but you only gain the vampire title (human/dwarf/elf vampire) and the vampire player-sprite after you fast travel and drink a creature's blood, but you have vampire-vision from the moment you drink the vampire's blood.

I vaguely remember Toady saying the persistent vampire speed bug of DF2012 was somehow related to the above phenomenon of only fully vampirising once you drink a creature's blood, so maybe it has some relevance here too.
