DescriptionHad a potter go berserk after unable to complete strange mood. I ordered the military to attack. < 30 seconds later a third of my fort is dead, and the rest are locked in combat.
Steps To ReproduceI reloaded the save, but the potter did not enter a strange mood.

1.) Have a dwarf go berserk from failing a mood

2.) Order militia to attack

I just had this problem. A Clothier failed a mood, went berserk, military attacks it, suddenly fights break out. I'm on 0.40.15

I think I had this happen a couple days ago on 43.04. Dwarf failed a mood, I sent in a squad to unberserk him (via list), afterwards I get Interrupted spam and a lot of mangled dwarf bodies.

0.44.12. As far as I can tell, the sequence went something like:
  * Miner (Zan Kuletfarash) threw a tantrum and attacked a soldier (Vabok Iteberar).
  * A crossbower (Fath Kolilrom) fired on the miner.
  * Another soldier (Momuz Emeteshtan) attacked the crossbower.

In the save, many of the parties involved are already dead, but Momuz Emeteshtan is still alive, with the thought that she "feels vengeful when joining an existing conflict".

Checking, she is the niece of Zan Kuletfarash, so I'm not positive this is bug 0007107. But the effects are similar enough--general civil war within the military--that I strongly suspect the same code is involved: erroneous determination as to who is an enemy of whom.

I wonder if this has been fixed for melee but not crossbows somehow. Playing in 0.44.12 I had a recruit go berserk while training with a melee squad, and get chopped up without further fuss. A bit later, a chained prisoner went berserk, I stationed my whole military on them, the archers got there first and shot, and then I had a loyalty cascade.

I have a save from the last save before the possessed dwarf goes berserk, I'm pretty sure they're already possessed in this save. The Dwarf in question is Obok Stake. I think they were a original visitor that joined as citizen, maybe.

The second save is right as the loyalty cascade starts, Obok goes beserk right next to a passing military dwarf in the main entrance hallway, her arms are sliced off almost immediately and a bunch of the civilian dwarfs start attacking the military/each other. Very little combat has happened in the second save, so everyone should mostly still be alive. I managed to catch it right as it started, and saved right at that spot.

The third save is only a minute or so past that in real time, but the cascade has spread across the entire fort almost and about 25% of my pop is engaged in one way or another it seems.
