Description | I used to be able to turn WEATHER:NO to get a slight boost to FPS by it not having to worry about such things as rain. In this version, however, I am in a fort where, when I turn WEATHER:YES, weather proceeds as normal, rain happens occasionally, and so forth. However, no matter what season I change it in, WEATHER:NO results in it starting raining, and continuing raining. I went a whole year of strait raining, literally without stop before I decided to start testing it. It's very consistent, and as I said I can let weather progress to dry and non-rainy just fine in any season, but as soon as I turn it to WEATHER:NO... rain. Rain rain rain. I haven't tested whether it is map-specific; it could be just my area has an average weather default of 'rainy' (though given that it rarely rains when I have WEATHER:YES I doubt this), but it will rain. |

Additional Information | Will put notes if anything comes up.
I need to try that INVADERS:NO thing. Seems my computer doesn't handle this version as well as older versions, hence why I was trying to fiddle to maximize FPS, hence the rain. That's unrelated to the rain, of course, but I'm hoping people figure out what the tricks are in this version to maximize FPS, because 70 with 40 dwarves is ominous... (Yes, only 40 dwarves. We've been knocked down from 20+ to less than 5 twice. I should've called this fort The Ever-Smiling Hills of Trees. |
