Summary0007635: Kitchen is randomly producing miasa with nothing in it
DescriptionSaw the kitchen acting as if an item was rotting in it, Has been going on for a while, I watched it for 30 mins and its still doing it.

Alright. Here you go. Just keep in mind that its random and my kitchen is by the food store and still on the right hand top corner of the fortress, about 3 levels underground.

I've waited about 10 minutes now, no miasma

My best guess is that cats are killing vermin near your food pile, and the corpse isn't being immediately hauled off to the refuse, creating miasma

I can't get it to reproduce. Just to be sure, you [k] looked at it and it was purple miasma and not a swarm of flies or something? I didn't see anyone with infected or rotten wounds that would cause miasma. Keep in mind also, if there were rotten food, the item may rot away but the miasma cloud may linger for a bit.

It would help if you can provide a save where the miasma exists.
