Summary0008053: Ramps made from tree roots act erattically
DescriptionIf you channel out a square of ground soil that happens to have tree roots under it, it creates a ramp that cannot be pathed up to the next z-level.

If you try to build something (like a wall) the GUI indicates that there is no access to any stockpiles or materials, confirming that there is no path up through the root ramp.

Further any mining designation (mine, create ramp, create stairs, etc) to the blocks orthagonal to the unpathable ramp will make the ramp disappear once the designation is complete.

Further, this phantom ramp may prevent dwarves from using climbing to path out of a pit.

This may also have something to do with the way dried up murky pools work.

Save demonstrating this bug is here: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=9421
Steps To ReproduceCreate a 1-z level pit adjoining some tree roots.
Remove all other ramps.
Dig or channel one of the tree roots into a ramp.
Dwarves will not path up the ramp, nor will they climb out of the pit.
Additional InformationIn my game I experienced this with a pool that dried up. I removed all the ramps into the pool in preparation to pave over the bottom and channeled out a new ramp from tree roots from above. I noticed that the dwarf in the dried pool would not path out of it for any reason. When I tried creating the paved roads, the game told me that there was no stockpile access.

I tried digging another ramp in the roots next to the first unpathable ramp. This caused the first ramp to vanish while at the same time producing another ramp that can't be pathed up to the next z-level. Dwarf is still stick in a 1z pit and will not use the ramp nor climb out.

Weird. I even searched for root bugs and didn't see that one.

I agree, very much the same bug A 0007904

edit: Ahh, it was because I searched for "roots" and not "root".
