Summary0008136: Dragonfire should be blue
DescriptionDragonfire is very hot, around 22000K. Since the color of a flame is determined by it's temperature (and the burning elements/ions/molecules, but I think this would be to complicated) dragonfire should be blue. An explanation can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature
Steps To ReproduceStart the testing-arena and take control over a dragon.
Additional InformationMaybe (probably) it's a quick fix

It's not clear that color temperature is a thing that's intended to be implemented in Dwarf Fortress. Besides, if your suggested change is applied, then everybody's going to start reporting bugs "why is dragonfire blue?"

And this is right in suggestion territory.....

There was a (now fixed) bug report about the color of horseshoe crab blood. I think this bug is of the same kind. I agree, that it would be a little bit confusing, if this is applied, but red dragonfire is incorrect (unless it is spat out aside with rubidium or lithium). On the other hand, every single tile in the arena should glow red/blue, if you set your temperature to magma/dragonfire, but this would be impractical.
Right now I recognize an other bug: If you set your temperature to dragonfire you still can see the draganfire, although there should be no temperature difference between the fire and the surrounding. Fire mechanics are confusing...

Horseshoe crab blood is real. Dragonfire, not so much. Applying real world science to a quite certainly supernatural phenomenon is iffy. I have to agree that turning dragonfire blue is bound to be confusing, and suggestion territory.
