Summary | 0008203: Rusty dwarf marksdwarf skills misrepresented when filling squad positions on military screen
Description | When selecting dwarves to fill positions in a squad of marksdwarves, scrolling through candidates typically shows each candidate's level in the Marksdwarf skill at the top of the screen (competent marksdwarf, not marksdwarf, etc.) However, if the dwarf in question has become rusty in this skill, he will be listed as "Not Marksdwarf" when scanning through candidates. If the dwarf is selected to be in the squad, his level in the skill will be correctly displayed if his name is highlighted in the "squad positions" column. This bug can make it slightly more difficult to select appropriately skilled dwarves from a large pool of dwarves when forming military squads.
Steps To Reproduce | 1)Allow a dwarf with some level in the marksdwarf skill to become rusty. 2)In the military screen, equip an empty position in a military squad with a crossbow 3)From the positions menu in the military screen, scan through the candidates for the position until arriving at the rusty marksdwarf 4)Skill level should be listed as "not marksdwarf" 5)Select the dwarf for the position 6)Highlight his name in the squad positions column 7)Skill level should be listed correctly
Additional Information | I only noticed this with the marksdwarf skill, but it could well be applicable to other military skills.

...I had a save to upload but I don't know how. This is my first bug report. |

Alright here's a save: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=9575 You can view the problem by attempting to fill the positions in my squad (The Ochre Ankles) from the military screen. Dwarves with the rusty marksdwarf skill to test on include 'Sigfried' and 'Rocker'. Highlighting either to fill a position should yield "not marksdwarf", but highlighting them once they have filled a position (or viewing their skills outside of the military screen with 'V') should indicate that they are both Novice marksdwarves. |

I think 0002478 covers this, although that reporter didn't spot the correlation with rust -- good find there. |
