Summary | 0008259: Creek surface changes to dirt when you construct / deconstruct on top of it.
Description | This is really part of the whole weirdness that is "creeks" in Dwarf Fortress. 7 deep water that is shallow enough to walk across. It might be considered a feature. Basically, though, if you build construction (e.g. floor, wall, etc.) across a creek surface and then deconstruct it you are left with dirt (furrowed loam, sand, etc.) over the 7/7 water tile below. Ideally, I suppose, it should revert to the 'creek' surface.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Find creek. 2. Build floor tiles across creek. 3. Deconstruct floor tiles.
Additional Information | If you wanted to make creeks more 'natural' I suppose you could make them solid and water-bearing (like a slow aquifer) and have them be usable as a water source.
