Summary | 0000841: Reclaimed artifacts infinitely tradeable
Description | After reclaiming a site with two artifacts, when the first caravan arrived they were apparently in a bin with tradeable materials... And I could trade them to the caravan (the one I had created in that fort doesn't show). When I did they stayed in my inventory, and I could trade them again... and again... and again... For the entire caravan, then offering them... doesn't matter they will return.
Steps To Reproduce | Reclaim site with artifacts. Trade!
Additional Information | Unsure whether I can actually trade artifacts if they aren't in a bin with tradeable material, will check next caravan.

This is kind of a weird carryover issue from the previous version. If I recall correctly, if you abandon an artifact in a bin, no matter what happens to the artifact, it also stays in the bin. This means you can have infinite artifacts as an adventurer (which I used/abused many times). I never thought to test it in dwarf mode! (Others have before me have, though) Previous incarnations of this bug... http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=41373.0 http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=40629.0 http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=27142.0 |

Confirm that similar behavior was in previous version, for adventurer at least. Still a pretty big bug, though. |
|
confirmed with artifacts alone in a bin, still infinitely tradeable (and sorry for duplicate post ) |
|
This is still present in 0.34.10 (in dwarf mode). After selling the artifact, when I view it in the "goods to sell" screen (under View description), I noticed that it was marked as forbidden (i.e. I could claim it), but that didn't prevent selling it again. Another slight oddity: the name of the artifact is listed in the items to sell list as being outside of any bin, even though it is in a bin and is counted in the total value of its bin. |

See 0001179 for the actual reason behind this bug - it's a problem with missing container/contents references (and probably has something to do with the item existing in memory even when it's not anywhere on the map). |
