Summary | 0008531: Finished Goods Bin not found for trading
Description | I have two finished goods bin full of bone craft items. They do not show up when selecting goods for trading. They aren't forbidden, or marked to dump.
Steps To Reproduce | * Load save. * Select 'g'oods at the depot * Try to find the finished goods bin (custard wood) that is full of bone crafts. (Select on 'bone' or just scroll through the list) * Fail to find it. You can see the bin is actually on the right hand side of the trade depot directly adjacent to it.

Hmm, OK for a minute I totally thought I'd messed up and put in a false report because the bins were tasked* for another job. But they still aren't showing up after I ran the save some more and tried to check for any relevant hauling jobs. A dorf does takes the bin back to the stockpile but it still isn't available for trading after it arrives there. I cancelled all item hauling and looked through the 'j'obs list but I can't find it and I still don't know why it isn't showing up. http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=10047 * Does that hide items from trade list? |
Could also be blocked by a mandate. |
Not a mandate. Rings are prohibited, but only 1 in 6 or so are rings. Ah! Maybe mandates are bugged so you can't haul the entire bin if even one ring is contained within it? That would explain it. EDIT: Nope. Ignoring mandates doesn't make the bins show up. Unless 'ignoring mandates' doesn't work with bins? EDIT x 2: I threw all rings out of one of the chests. It still wasn't listed. |
Erm, i toggled "ignore mandates" and it showed up, distance 1. You have make crafts on repeat. The bin just keeps getting requested for hauling. Tasked items are not displayed in the "bring to depot" options, only stuff that's currently available. You can force-cancel a hauling job by forbidding/reclaiming an item while the game is paused; this also makes the item visible for the depot again if you don't un-pause before going into the depot menu. Selling a bin containing a prohibited item reportedly counts as mandate violation and has consequences. So hiding them when mandates are respected is the correct behaviour, not doing so would be a bug. |
I toggled "ignore mandates" and it doesn't show up. I also set bins to zero on Finished Goods Stockpile # 64 And I disabled all hauling except trade goods hauling and checked that nobody is assigned a move item to stockpile job. I'll upload a slightly more recent save with the above changes. http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=10047 |

No change whatsoever: Click onto depot, "m" to ignore mandates. Both when "s"earching for "finished" and when looking at "crafts" the bin at 1 square away is properly shown. It also gets properly carried to the depot, but you again need to toggle "m" to actually see it in there. Are you using some third-party utility that does "helpful" stuff to your various interfaces? That's the only place where an actual bug could still be present. The unmodded game has definitely _no_ problem finding the bin. What you're showing is just the wonky trade depot stocking behaviour, not really something for the bug tracker but rather for the suggestions forum at bay12. PS: If you were using the search filter for "bone", that's your reason - items are not taken out of containers to bring them to the depot, and the depot's search filter will also only filter for the container's name. Since the bin isn't a bone bin, you'll have to search for a "finished goods bin", or just look at the "crafts" category (with "m" toggled). |
Yes, it was the search filter. I 'remembered' how it worked incorrectly. The other stuff were red herrings. Can be closed 'not a bug'. |
