Summary | 0008918: Labor selection screen refuses to allow for enabling or disabling labors
Description | When selecting a dwarf under preferences and choosing labor, the labor screen selections will highlight to indicate the particular chosen labor (like hauling, mining, etc) is enabled, but only for a split second. It will then revert back to the state it was which was disabled. It appears that the "enabled" labors that stay that way are the ones that were assigned based on the skill selections of pre-embark i.e. a miner dwarf will have the mining labor enabled, along with the appropriate labors (healthcare if they have diagnostician as a skill). The screen appears to refuse to allow for any changes to the labor screen other than the ones that come from when you selected skills pre-embark.
Steps To Reproduce | Press 'u' select dwarf and press 'z' press 'p' (preferences) then press 'l' (labor) Attempt to press enter to enable the labor, it will blink to highlight briefly but will then go back to whatever state it was before you pressed enter. It appears to be the same thing with attempting to disable labors
Additional Information | This is from the latest version r10. I am not sure if I am reporting this under the right category, as I can't find anything with the word labor in it. This does affect gameplay significantly as this bug prevents you from enabling or disabling labors for the dwarves.

I'm just taking a stab in the dark here, but it looks like you are using DFHack (through a starter pack) and have Autolabor enabled. You can either un-check it in the launcher GUI or type autolabor off in the DFHack window. |
|
I did actually un-check it from the launcher GUI. Didn't work. It never occurred to me to do it in the console. Just reopened the game and typed "autolabor 0" into the dfhack console. Works fine now:) Thanks. |

Thanks for the follow-up. |

It's also worth noting that "r10" is not a DF version. I'm assuming that's a version of a pack you're using, but for the purposes of the bug tracker only the DF version (0.40.24) is necessary. |
