Summary0008924: Crash on game load
DescriptionLoad fortress mode save game. immediate crash on unpause.
Steps To ReproduceLoad fortress mode save game. immediate crash on unpause.
Additional InformationCause is unknown. This fortress has been very "crashy" and has crashed several times. I have noticed no pattern. This one crashes immediately though, and so is unplayable :(

In this save, Giant Cave spiders have been modded to reproduce. There may be other (minor) tweaks, but I think that was it. I'd have to diff it to be sure.

Game was started with 40.22 I think. May have been 40.19.

I have tried loading this in vanilla 0.40.24 in Linux.

It crashes after unpausing.
There are several bridges built in forested area. After I have cancelled their construction and unpaused, it crashed again.
After cancelling currently built bridge, removing all tasks from manager, disbanding the only squad, deleting of all burrows, making of new small burrow, making new alert, adding new burrow to new alert, setting that alert as active civilian alert, ordering trade depot with merchants inside to be dismantled and unpausing, it still crashed.

I guess this is not caused by 0008719 because it crashed even when no constructions were finished on tree tiles. There is one Giant Cave spider in Deceased list, other (male) one is trapped in one of corridors. Did that spidery change worked for you before or is this the first time you are trying it? If it is the first time try I guess game tries to add new GCS but female this time and it doesn't go well. Otherwise it is probably caused by something else.

'twould be difficult to screw up such a simple change to the raws. Not saying that I couldn't have, of course. :) I would expect that the "creature wanders onto the map" to be more random though, and not so infernally consistent.

I could try reversing that change though... (copies /raw/objects to /data/save/region4/raw/objects) Nopers. Still crashes. So almost certainly something else.

All good suggestions though. I really should have searched for open crash bugs before submitting this, and tried all of that, I guess.

While you're looking at it, care to hazard a guess as to why that male GCS won't web? My current theory is that his leg is injured, causing him to be immobile, causing a pathing fail. But I really don't know what else to try there. He wouldn't even move towards the wooden door (and the cage trap.) And refuses to web any of my dwarves, even with direct LOS.
