Summary | 0009435: Total value of exported goods remains zero after exporting goods
Description | I've had several caravans arrive and I've exported natively made goods to them. The z-screen still shows Exported Wealth as none.
Steps To Reproduce | I've attached a save file with this bug. The caravan has arrived and I've traded with them. You can trade some more if you'd like since there's still a bit of time before they leave. http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=11573
Additional Information | World was created in 42.04.

Could they possibly be always attacked on the road back so they then return to their city empty handed? Are there any evil regions or goblin/undead sites nearby caravan routes? Does it appear just in given fort in given world or elsewhere too? |
The fort itself isn't in an evil biome but I can't say if there are others nearby or not. Haven't tested it elsewhere in the world. Caravans arrive at the depot, trade goods and leave as normal. It isn't the case where a wagon deconstructs itself because a corpse is nearby and everyone runs scared. The human caravan never shows up, which I believe is just because it wasn't nearby on embark. That shouldn't affect anything though. Anyway I don't think this is only a display error. No nobles show up despite being a 100+ dwarf fort. |
So you don't have Bookkeeper assigned? That may be it: none has counted how much wealth you made or exported. So you can't even access noble screen or you just haven't assigned any? |
No, a broker keeps track of wealth. I had a fort with no offices yesterday and, while rounded off, it did give an estimate of how many urists worth of goods I exported. |
I had a broker and bookkeeper assigned at the time. By the way, the Imported Wealth value works properly, as does all of the Created Wealth figures at the top. |
I'm having the same issue (0.42.04, Linux). Exported Wealth is always 0, despite having a broker, a bookkeeper (set to Highest Precision and up to date), and all of that. I have no idea what happens to the traded goods once the caravans leave my map, though. I have contact with Kobold and Goblin civs. |
I think it has something to do with the human civilizations in some way. I started a second fort on a newly generated world, where on embark I had access to dwarf, elf, goblin, and human civilizations. No human caravans have ever showed up although I do get human visitors, and exports still remain as zero. |
I've got the same situation - embarked close to elf/dwarf/human/goblin civs. No human caravans so far and 0 exported wealth. 0.42.04, Linux |
Also having this problem in 42.04. Has occurred in multiple genned worlds, in multiple forts within the same world and with and without human traders. In one fort (the one where I first noticed this) the first trading session with the dwarves worked properly with exported wealth going up, then afterwards it has never increased. I'll try and upload a copy of this example. |
Can confirm in 0.42.04 on Windows with both Dwarves and Elves. I've exported a lot, but exported wealth remains at 0. Imported wealth is accurate, as is created. I'll try and upload a save. EDIT: Here is a save that contains this bug. I've got a few custom professions managed by Dwarf Therapist, but aside from that, this fort is completely vanilla. http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=11639 |

I am having the same issue (42.04). 17 year old fort, exported wealth none. No barony, never got a human caravan either. here's a save: http://dffd.bay12games.com/submit.php?action=message&fid=11640 |
oops wrong link here's the save (the wrong link might redirect you to it just fine, but I'm not sure) http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=11640 |

Vidboi made a good observation in this thread: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=155423.0 The human caravans not coming is because they require 500 exported wealth before they come, so yeah, definitly linked to this bug. |
Here is a save file of a fortress that exhibits this behaviour with an interesting quirk: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6-QPW5ZXeYhMmFmS0w5ME8wRzA/view?usp=sharing (No DFFD as it won't send me a registration email :/) The save is set up with an elven caravan in the trade depot and goods and broker there ready to trade. The first trading season with the dwarves worked as intended - exported wealth went up as a result. Since then however it has never increased. My only thought for what was different with this fort is that I forgot to bring a pick, so no digging was done prior to the first dwarven caravan. In terms of how this bug affects the game, I've noticed several effects: 1. Human caravans never arrive, as they require 500 exported wealth to trigger ([PROGRESS_TRIGGER_TRADE:1] in entity_default). Oddly elves also has this token but it doesn't seem to affect them. 2. Baron/Count/Duke and Monarch will never arrive, as these all require exported wealth and gifts to arrive, neither of which appear to be recorded. 3. Caravans don't seem to get bigger in size. I'm not entirely sure on this one, but I know that caravan size is dependent on the difference in wealth from the previous caravan, so recorded no exported wealth breaks this. |
could this be related to the outpost liaison not leaving the fort? im in the 18th year of my current fortress (started in 0.42.04) and still no exported wealth. the outpost liasion never leaves with the caravan, but instead stays for a few dwarven weeks longer. |
I think the outpost liason does report the wealth of the fortress. Confirmed bug, I haven't gotten nobles either too. |
