Summary | 0009572: unconscious companions disappear when resting/sleeping/fast traveling/etc
Description | No product version, this bug has occurred without fail for every version that I can recall. An unconscious companion will disappear, even if that character is in clear view of the player character while remaining awake for a single hour of rest. Even with no hostiles present, no bleeding, no pulmonary or respiratory damage and no possible vectors for syndrome. The missing companion will never be present at any location again.
Steps To Reproduce | With a companion with no negative status other than unconscious, offload the current location by any means available; take your choice. When a local tile loads again, said companion doesn't appear again, but you may find yourself crawling while crossing the tile he used to occupy.

The empty/occupied tile is the same as happens with mummies when you save/reload: http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=9355 but you can encounter the mummies as wandering units (and get cursed, weee!) so it is weird that the companions don't show up as a roaming army ever. What does legends say about them? |
|
Legends and their history doesn't say anything about them when they're left behind, but it rarely does so that isn't a practically useful metric. This is a different bug from companions reloading to their original position when walking in or out of the region tile they were recruited from. This can happen anywhere. |
