| Description | i started a brand new game world when i updated to 0.42.06 instead of keeping my old world, about half a year into my first settlement right after i made it through the aquifer i was notified of a vile force of darkness and entered a siege. i was very confused when i noticed the entire enemy force was made up of dwarf units. i never saw this before so i checked the dwarf fortress wiki for sieges and was informed that "Dwarf sieges will only arrive when you mod the game" but seeing as i have NOT modded the game in any way, just straight downloaded it, extracted it and ran dwarf fotress.exe. so this is no doubt a bug. screenshots will be included in additional info | ||||

they were crazy strong and killed every single dwarf in my fortress :( my 109 dwarfs, including military only killed 5 of the invading 10 dwarfs |

It isn't a dwarf siege, but a goblin one. However, goblin civs can and will recruit other races through conquest and baby snatching. This means goblin sieges can be made up of mixtures of goblins and other races as well as only other races. If you check the names of the invaders it's very likely they have goblin names, as assimilated non goblins adopt names and customs of their (goblin) civ. |
