Summary0009991: Slabs erroneously engraved
DescriptionCertain dwarves are engraved as being killed by creatures other than the one that actually killed them. In this instance, it *seems* to be related to the fact that the dwarves in question were incinerated rather than killed by more ordinary means, though I'm not certain of that.
Steps To ReproducePick a fight with a firebreathing beast. Suffer casualties. Bury the casualties, and engrave slabs for them. Check the slabs, especially for dwarves that get incinerated such that they don't leave any corporeal remains. If this is repeatable, the dwarves who were incinerated will have died in seemingly random fights, perhaps previous ones (I'm not sure, and don't have the spoons to dig that carefully through my previous battles.)

Additional InformationHere's a link to the fort in question:

if you can find my crypt (it's a number of z levels down, tied to F3) the most recent batch of inaccurate slabs is in the bottom-right. There's a platinum statue at the end of the hall that depicts the FB that did the killing, and in that statue its killing another FB. And that fight ended pretty recently at the save point of this fort.

Also, check the long hallway of slabs that ends with a cinnabar statue of a FB, that was another firebreather who took many victims, and there are some in there also. that fight happened years before, the years posted on the slabs are always accurate.

I'm not totally sure about the fire connection, but it makes a certain sense...
