Summary0001036: "Accessible" underground depot -> traders stay at map edge
DescriptionIf you build an "accessible" trade depot in a cavern which actually has no routes to the surface, then merchants will spawn on the edge of the surface map but just stay there until it's time for them to go, at which point they'll leave.
Steps To Reproduce1) Break into a cavern and locate a part of it which goes off the edge of the map (walkable floor right next to the edge)

2) Build a trade depot in the cavern close to the edge, and use the "depot accessible" command to make sure that it's accessible. You should see green "W"s leading from the depot to the cavern's map edge.

3) Seal off the cavern so that it's inaccessible from the surface.

4) Wait for traders to arrive. They'll spawn on the edge of the map on the surface, and then just sit there.

I'm pretty sure that the traders are supposed to bypass you if your depot is inaccessible to them, rather than just sitting there at the edge of the map.

out of curiosity did the traders appear at a valid tile if the Z tiles were disregarded, ie were they fine on the other 2 axis for access.

The wagons bypass you immediately, but the pack animals wait patiently in case you build a depot before they leave. So that part isn't a bug. The bug is that the "Depot Accessible" indicator apparently lied to you.
