Summary0004467: GRASS_TILES is ignored when VARIED_GROUND_TILES option is set to NO
DescriptionAs per the summary, when the VARIED_GROUND_TILES option is set to no, grasses appear as . regardless of whether that tile is set in the grass raws or not. This makes the bamboos (and bubble grass) invisible unless looked at. I'm uncertain how it affects animated grass, but I would expect that it also appears as such.

Colors are respected, so that's an inconsistency it seems. Though it does mean that bubble grass is technically visible.
