| Description | I have around 120 dwarves and after cutting down a tree one or two will gather the wood that is produced. The other 70 will continue their jobs, the last will all stand around idle doing nothing. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Get a big amount of dwarves and fell a tree. Pretty easy to reproduce. | ||||
| Additional Information | I have found one workaround that seems to kind of work. All I have to do is dump all of the wood. Once it is all in a garbage dump I have to reclaim it. It won't get all of the idlers to collect it, but more will accept the task than if I just leave the wood outside. | ||||

Is your wood stockpile set to use wheelbarrows? Stockpiles with wheelbarrows only allow as many haulers as wheelbarrows are assigned to them. If that doesn't explain what you see, please upload a save (whole region folder) where the problem is in progress to the DFFD ( http://dffd.bay12games.com/ ) and post a link to it here. |

Is wood gathering enabled in the standing orders menu? |

He said one or two are collecting it so it should be enabled. Rather try checking labor settings of your dwarves, "Wood hauling" is separated from other "Hauling". Also, can those idlers navigate to that area with fresh logs? But yes, it looks rather just like wheelbarrow problem. |
