Do you recall what civilization you tried to join before reaching the skill point screen? |

Lasher is only available to human and goblin civs, as only they produce whips (or scourges in the case of goblins). The list of available skills in that image very clearly marks your adventurer as from a dwarven civ. You'd have not only lasher but also pikeman and bowman available if you were from a human civ, and your weapon skills would be restricted to swords, spears, and bows if you were elven in origin. |
