| Additional Information | How do I get any more meaningful crash data, such as a stack trace? How would I know if assertion was reached, or.. why it crashed? Is there a special way to launch game? Window simply disappears, no information given or logged. | ||||

Normally, to fix a bug, Toady takes your save and presumably loads it into his IDE where he can see what actually happens at the time of the crash. C++ does not have any sort of good error handling system, but IDEs will often provide debugging facilities by manually keeping track of the program's internal state, allowing things like stacktraces. |

Also cannot designate with this saved game. The flashing "+" never appears when pressing return after 'd'. Cannot dig, etc. |

So vanilla DF build for OS X, no mods, a new fort generated in this 0.44.02 version with default world options? Or was it a save from some older version? How far from start of this fortress did this happen? Did "b" work here before in 0.44.02 for you? So it doesn't crash without that resizing part? Please upload the zipped save folder rather to http://dffd.bay12games.com/ and post a link to it here, thanks. That is the file storage place for all DF-related stuff. |
