Summary | 0000104: No access to building material issue
Description | When building a workshop with materials clearly accessable and enough to build, a 'No access..' message appears. Though when changing workshop's place for just several cells message disappears and it's become possible to build.
Steps To Reproduce | Can't reproduce on fresh load, happens on random through a game.
Additional Information | Might be related to 0000103.

this is probably related to several other pathing threads. So far haven't gotten any clear answers on how to reproduce any pathing problems however. so keep looking. |

This bug shows up when breaching aquifers. I think it might be the game mixing up weather or not submerged tiles are accesible, (in this particular case) or subteranean and or special tiles (such as excavated aquifer tiles) are what experience this problem. After I wait for a bit with DF unpaused the problem seems to go away. Edit: Something I've noticed: When this occurs, it seems that a specific dwarf works on the construction. This is noticble when breaching aquifers because of the repeated job cancelations due to dangerous terrain. Perhaps the game is selecting a dwarf to build the item in question, and marks the material as unnaccesable if the dwarf is otherwise occupied. The other reason this occured to me is that the bug seems to occur after buildings have been placed for construction as well. I'll place a wall to be built, and no one with the appropriate professions will touch it, then after a particular dwarf wakes up, finishes eating/drinking/hauling items etc, he goes to build the wall. |

I am getting a similar if not exactly the same error.. trying to build any construction that is seperated from the materials by ramps, or stairs seems to be more likely to cause it... sometimes it happens when the materials are mere squares away on the same floor though. Theory: it might have to do with places newly mined out, or places that have newly gotten access to via stairs/ramps... and perhaps they have not been "updated" with what materials/pathing can be done involving them. Likely same as 0000018 FIXES self after season change and/or save! |
