Summary | 0010494: repeated diagnoses on injured mercenary
Description | About an in-game year ago, one of my mercenaries, a human markswoman, suffered an injury to her hand. She was taken to a hospital, diagnosed and treated several times. However, after a few treatments diagnoses seemed to stop "taking" properly. Medical dwarves would gain a "Diagnose patient" job, move to her position and apparently perform a diagnosis, spending a moment and gaining experience in the Diagnoser skill. However, treatment does not progress and the diagnoses are not listed in the patient's treatment history. This has gone of for so long that all of my dwarves with Diagnoser enabled have reached Legendary skill with no sign of stopping.
Additional Information | The patient is a human mercenary granted temporary citizenship. She has been diagnosed and treated successfully to evaluate her injuries before, but the bug kicked in before her treatment was finished and she was discharged. Other dwarves have been through the dwarven healthcare system successfully, though no other non-dwarven residents have been injured yet. The bug was not fixed by deconstructing the traction bench under her. She was suffering from a fracture in her hand, which was in traction, and from an infection due to not

Same thing happened with a child in my fortress in 0.44.03 (so this bug also affects your own fort's dwarves sometimes). Compound fracture. Was taken to traction bench. Diagnosed. Then diagnosed again, for a few dozen times, without any further help. I deconstructed the traction bench, and now the child is stuck in a permanent "Play" job with no help and not even diagnosis anymore - totally ignored on the hospital floor. |

Similar thing happened to me - my dorf has got like a thousand of repeated diagnoses, but, what's important, was cured and freed after all (after about a month). I recall this has been already posted a few times before, eg.: 0007916. |
