Summary0010500: Entity based fame doesn't seem to influence person-to-person relationship based fame.
DescriptionUpon retiring and unretiring I noticed that I was properly shown as a legendary hero/hunter for my civ and several others according to legends mode, so I assumed this would extend to the usual around-town type of "an honor as always/etc" greetings/responses.

Unfortunately only people who have been directly interacted with enough to raise their personal fame storage with regards to my adventurer seem to show the expected behavior upon greeting/making requests to join/stay overnight/buy booze/etc.

Everyone else, despite having known them my entire life, and belonging to the same entity as they do, act as if I was a fresh adventurer with no feats under my belt, suggesting the entity based fame isn't influencing them in any way.

Similarly, despite having someone tell me I'm a legendary blahblahblah, if I try to bring up say, one of the events which earned that legendary status, the "it was inevitable" response and weird "unknown creature" attribution effects show up as if they stroked out briefly and completely forgot everything they knew I had done?
Steps To ReproduceMake an adventurer.
Do something which would usually get you a good amount of fame.
Notice that nobody really cares.
Retire and check legends.
Notice that your status with the relevant entities are what they should be.
Unretire and talk to someone you had informed of your feats previously.
Notice that they greet you as a protector/hunter/hero/etc appropriately.
Tell them about the exact same feats you did before retiring.
Notice they don't seem to care.
Talk to someone from your entity you knew your whole life and //DIDN'T// spam your kills around.
Notice they act like you're a pleasant if unremarkable newbie adventurer.
Additional InformationVery similar to, and most likely related to the actual cause of: http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=10335 but that doesn't go into the entity based fame.

I can confirm this. It looks like just people you tell your feats reacts properly.

Ideally rumors and attached fame of you (or histfigs anyway) would circulate in settlements, a similar kind of action occurs in note 0010354:0037174 where people needed to announce their presence before being recognized in a resolved issue report for 'unknown creatures' being referenced.

The 'rumor noticeboard' Toady was working on between the artifact and tavern versions was meant to administrate the flow of rumours but its difficult to determine anything about it or if its not working.

Fame and relations have definitely changed since prior releases. Not sure if it's related, but I've noticed a disconnect between telling people about events (bringing up an incident report) and asking about things in regards to their opinion on the matter. So far in my experiments the most consistent behavior is that upon reporting an incident that should garner fame, a person reacts as if it is unremarkable IE "a creature/bandit/entity was slain, it was inevitable" - UNLESS - that person has personally seen the infamous entity do something negative. However regardless of whether or not you are praised as a hero off the bat, if you then ask about yourself they will describe you as a defender of the innocent or very brave or some such. But only if they actually saw you in combat with the entity or if they were attacked/witness to an attack by the entity then they will say "You have my thanks!" in a similar fashion that questgivers do. Either way I think rumors do get passed around, but opinions on events seem to be pretty flat all-around unless the previously described circumstances are present. But I'm not clear if this is intentional or not.
