Summary0010612: Invading army lost, milling about aimlessly
DescriptionI'm sure similar things have been reported before, so sorry if this is a duplicate. Can't seem to find a report right now.

Army of Dwarves just invaded me (provoked them with raids). Charged directly towards my entrance, killed some animals pastured right outside and then ran away to the edge of the map.

They're now hanging out there swarming about apparently lost.

My drawbridge is open, my own dorfs are just inside ready for a fight. But no-ones going to take them on apparently.
Steps To ReproduceHave invasion.
But not always.
Additional InformationHad similar with invading goblins in 44.05, but I've got them set to ambush, so I figured it might be something about ambushes making them act. Some of them eventually made it to the fortress, but only those who decided to chase visitors in.

This save shows a regular siege.

(Save from modded world. Various raw tweaks, no DFhack.
Minotaur hanging out with the dwarf invaders is from an added civ. Not a regular semi-megabeast minotaur).

Dwarves are a [SIEGER] type who wait outside of the map, it is hard to say whether this is a awkward/buggy representation of intended behaviour (killed visible hostiles outside, waiting for a clear path towards more before returning onto the map since you blocked with a drawbridge)or if it is a morale failure superficially speaking without loading up the save.

There was a clear entrance, no bridges were raised, they headed for it, killed the animals and instead of moving forward into the fortress ran back to the edge of the map. That's not how humans sieges have been in the past (also siegers).

Yeah, something got crossed up at some point. If their original outside invasion doesn't pull them indoors, they won't make it unless someone comes outside and draws them in. They should eventually flip properly to the more aggressive posture for next time (they still wait a bit.)
