| Description | I've lost a small squad to this bug. I sent a small group out to request tribute from a nearby elven civ to make them aware of my existance, and they have not returned in 3 years. The issue is that this was my only squad, leaving me with only the guard to defend and carry out missions. I cannot create a new squad because the commander is gone, and I cannot remove him from his position because he's marked as travelling. I checked Legends and it shows that the tribute demand was rejected. The dwarves will reliably return on time for any other mission. | ||||

Could you provide a save please? I've recently tried on 44.12 seperately and while they did get a bit hitched up going through mountain terrain taking another unaccounted extra day there and back, they did return. So i reckon circumstances surrounding your world generation/civ may apply. Any platform/method of sharing is fine but the DFFD with the save file in a ZIP folder would be reccommended (( http://dffd.bay12games.com/ )) |

They can technically be at war with you (by proxy, your civ) also before you've contacted them without any particular way of being aware of it before your troops arrive to a hostile settlement if that is the case instigating a immediate fight. |

The civilization screen says that my civ is at peace with them, and caravans have arrived every summer since. I'll have the saves up later today, after testing a bit. |
