Product Version0.44.06
Summary0011034: App wide keyboard lag in large windows

Steps To ReproduceI have downgraded to version 0.44.05 and that fixes it. All version beyond (including the latest 0.44.12 are also broken).

Upon further investigation, it's not a bug. It's a scaling issue. I was scaling the window larger, and perhaps the person from stackexchange was as well. Once I kept the windows about the same size, the issue went away.

To be clear, there is keyboard lag, but it is only present when I stretch or maximize the game beyond startup size. Apologies if there is already an issue present for this.

What happens if you change your PRINT_MODE setting in init.txt to STANDARD?

Changing the PRINT_MODE to FRAME_BUFFER worked for me.

OS X 10.15
DF version 0.47.01

The file to make this change is ./data/init/init.txt

Can confirm. After double-clicking on the df executable, I expanded the window size instinctively and noticed pretty quickly that the CPU shot up to 100+%, fans were going crazy, and there was a very noticeable lag after each keystroke in the menu. I didn't even start up the game because I figured there would be an issue there too. The fix by Pixel-Axe worked great — after updating the PRINT_MODE setting, CPU for df is now 4% and there's no noticeable keyboard lag.

I just downloaded 0.47.04. I am using macOS 10.14.6.
