Summary | 0011237: Mounts/pets have trouble pathing through packed entrances like in surface forts
Description | Mounts/pets will sometimes refuse to follow you through something like surface fort entrances unless you go back for them. Go far enough from them and they're lost on fast travel.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Have a pet/mount. More pets/mounts increases chance for reproducibility. 2. Run through a fort entrance.

Are we talking a dwarven Fortress from previous updates, or new fortresses? If its going through a door like new fortresses, FULLY intentional. Mounts don't have hands to open doors. |
By surface forts, I mean the new forts, but I guess it happens with any building/location with a door. Regardless of realism, I personally find it a bit of an needless annoyance, especially if you have an absurd amount of pets, but others can disagree. You could totally argue this extra management is part of the cost of having more pets on your adventure. It's good that you pointed that out. |
After thinking about it a bit more, I also guess a fix wouldn't be that simple with how grasping works in the game. This issue can be dismissed. |
Not really the place to discuss this, but one way to help is that if you have one pet you want to haul through at a time, you can press h (like mounting them) and guide them through like a dwarf might bring a pet to pasture in Fort mode |
