Summary | 0011403: Animal people will never get a choice of religion on Adventurer setup no matter how well established their pops.
Description | No matter how long they've been civilized or how large their population, animal people will never get a choice of religion in Adventurer character setup. Populations of normal civilized races living with other civilizations (not their own "natural" entity), even ones with no religion in their natural entities, will pick up a local religion in at least one site, usually several, in almost every world generated. In most worlds, you can even find at least one site which offers a choice of religion to necromancer experiments who have joined the civ. And they should be no different from the animal people populations. So this means that either: a) populations of animal people are not picking up religion at all. b) Adventurer character interface is incorrectly not reading local animal person religious populations. Toady mentioned that this is supposed to be a thing. http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=175662.45
Steps To Reproduce | Generate any number of worlds, no matter how large, no matter how convoluted to push up civilized animal person pops (believe me, I've tried). Try to find a site which offers a civilized animal person (not one from the intelligent wilderness menu) a choice of religion. Fail.
Additional Information | Note, this is a report regarding populations of animal people who civilized during worldgen failing to get religions. There is a side issue about Intelligent Wilderness Creatures not having religion any more (they did in 44.12). But I think that's just a consequence of choice of religion now being based on actual religious populations and IWCs don't have any established population. So this is not about that.
