| Summary | 0011478: Sometimes descriptions say "bears" when should say "bares". | ||||
| Description | This is a tricky grammatical issue, but an arm "bares" a scar, meaning it shows it, as opposed to "bearing" a scar which is more like carrying one. This came up because I am playing an adventure mode game where I play three grizzly bear people, and a viewer found it humorous that a description said her arm *bears* a scar. | ||||

No, if you slide up your sleeve, it bares the scar that the arm bears. The arm carries the scar, the sleeve reveals it, bear is correct. |

I agree with Rafatio here. The usage of "bears" is correct. |
