Summary | 0012103: The New Labor Names are Confusing
Description | Hi. I noticed in this version of the game that there were specific labour name changes, which added more confusion rather than simplifying things. From the set of starting labours, there is the default "Stonecutters" labour, which I thought for a while was the ability to make furnitures at a Stoneworker station, but it ended up only affecting stone smoothing on the walls/floors. But then I realized there was also the Stone carver labour from the custom work detail menu, which is the one that makes almost everything at the Stoneworker workshop, the one I was looking for and thought Stonecutter or the Mason labour was. From what I understand, these labour names have been changed from Classic to Premium: Stone Detailing --> Stonecutter (1st tier) and now separately Engraver (2nd tier) Masonry --> Stone Carver Architect (?) --> Masonry Cutting and Carving are very synonymous terms, and because of that, Stone carving and Stonecutting are hard to tell apart. It would help to have Stonecutter become Stone smoother (i.e: Novice stone smoother), and Stone carver become Stone mason (i.e: Novice stone mason) since the actual term for working with stone is stonemasonry or stone masonry, moreso than just "masonry". if the Architect did indeed take the Mason's place, then it would also make sense for Masonry to not be restricted only to the "Stoneworking" category anymore, since Architect can involve wooden constructions. Edit: A Dwarf with a Strange Mood that makes a stone artifact will have him become a Legendary Mason, despite how crafting stone goods in this version doesn't train Mason anymore as far as I can tell since Mason is now the Classic's Architect labour (someone correct me on that, as I'm still not sure whether Mason in thos version still influences the quality of stone goods at all).
