i was able to reproduce this on the same save by cutting down the specific highwood tree in the provided save game. dwarfs wont haul the logs despite there being a wood stockpile with space. dwarfs wont use the logs to build workshops despite the logs being in a stockpile that i drew over them myself. the bug only appears to affect this one specific highwood tree but not all of the logs in the tree. in the screenshot it shows 6 bugged logs but in my game there's only 4. dwarfs were able to haul/use 80% of the bugged tree's logs but not the last 4. it even shows the unforbidden highwood logs on the stock screen. |

Reporter here. This bug still exists in 50.05 game. I want to point out a mistake in skates' report: The bug affects not only one specific highwood tree. It affects all BIG highwood trees that are not single-blocked. All 2x2 and 3x3 highwood trees suffer from the bug. |

I got this with a chopped down Ginkgo tree. Two of the logs fell onto squares that were previously occupied by the trunk and they cannot be accessed by the dwarves. They will not take them to a wood stockpile. I examined the tiles with dfhack's gmeditor and three of the four tiles that the truck occupied have a walkable value of 0 (zero), meaning the tile cannot be reached from any other tile. I suspect there is a bug in the tree felling code: - When a 1x1 tile size tree is cut down then the trunk tile becomes walkable and gets assigned a local walkable value so that dwarfs can walk to/through it. - When a 2x2 tile size tree is cut down then only one of the four tiles is made walkable. The other three are left with zero walkable value. Using gmeditor, I set the walkable value of the three tiles to be the same as adjacent tiles. After unpausing the logs could be accessed by the dwarves and were taken to the stockpile. |
