Summary0012919: Unlimited creatures can fit into a single cage
DescriptionSelf-explanatory. As per DF wiki entry (https://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php/Cage):

"Multiple creatures can be assigned to the same cage with no penalty. It is possible to fit hundreds of puppies with dozens of dragons, and whatever other animals are on hand, in a single cage with no ill effects."

Inb4 "quantum cages y'know", reporting this since no report exists about this (undoubtedly weird/unrealistic/unscripted) behaviour whatsoever.

For what it's worth, "quantum cages" have been around since the very first version - the point at which it ventured into "bug" territory is when animal overcrowding was added back in version 0.31.

Well I don't know if there's ever been any official statement about this by Toady... it's certainly not realistic - and as a personal note (just like quantum stockpiles or dwarven atom smashers or personality traits and values to animals) it simply screams lack of polish/unscripted behaviour to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I also think that anything even remotely strange is worth reporting, so long as the game is "under development"... then it's up to the developer(s) to decide if and where to draw the line.
