Summary0012965: Clothing layers (Adventure, and Fortress mode)
DescriptionSo I've been playing v47 after getting into DF when v50 came out.
I noticed that in v47: characters in general are much better dressed.

In v50 however: it seems to only pull from select layers, rather than having every layer covered.
Meaning in v50 characters are less dressed than they were in v47 and I'd assume older versions.
Unsure if anyone else has reported this change in behavior, this subject has been on my mind for a bit now.
Steps To ReproduceIn v47: start in Fortress, or Adventure mode. Examine worn clothing.
In v50: do the same thing, and see only select layers covered.

In what climate did your 0.47 and v50 fortresses take place? Dwarves are probably going to wear less clothing in a tropical environment than in a place where it gets cold in the winter.

Any climate.
I was mostly referring to how in v47 at least, dwarves, elves, humans, etc.. (including modded races) would pull from a full list of clothing that a given entity has access to, which then comprised a fully layered set of clothes.
Version 50 however, citizens and position holders (ie Outpost Liaison) seem to pull clothes of this variety:
Head = Layer, Under (if available ; goblin thieves for example)
Upper body = Layer, Under
Lower body = Layer, Over
Hands = Layer, Under
Feet = Layer, Over + Under
Which can be seen from the embark screen.
