Summary | 0001302: Civilian dwarves take Squad equipment from Barrack to store it into StockPile
Description | Civilians keep on taking Squad equipment from the Barrack to store it into a StockPile. Which is very annoying since my Squad dwarves have to run everywhere in the Fortress to get their equipment back. (I had to create a weapon/armor stockpile in the barrack to "help"). Civilians only take the Equipment matching "partialy" the Uniform. In my case, the Squad all have a Bronze armor set... with "Partial matches" activated. For the parts missing, they use Leather parts. Those parts will be returned to StockPile everytime my Squad dwarf drops it in the Barrack.
Additional Information | In the Schedule screen, I tell them to stay uniformed, but it doesn't work. They still drop their equipment (?)

Is your squad's alert state Inactive or Active/Training? |
|
They have a schedule... which tell them to station in a Burrow. They guard the entrance of my fortress. I have set the Station order to 5 dwarf minimum, and set 5 prefered. Every three month those 5 prefered alternate. So, to answer your question, it's active Station. |

There's an option in the Schedule screen to make them wear uniforms while off duty. If you don't turn it on, they'll drop their stuff when they go off duty. Could that explain this? |
|
I think I've seen my dwarves do this, too. I have my military set to retain their uniforms even when inactive, but they love to store their equipment and then pick it back up again. In fact, I had a speardwarf get in combat earlier today while he was on patrol, and the very first thing he did was take off his boots, become a civilian, take one step towards stowing them, and then throw them on the ground as he reverted to military status to fight. |

> There's an option in the Schedule screen to make them wear uniforms while off duty. Yes, like I wrote in the "additionnal information" field, this doesn't seem to work... |
|
Oops, missed that. |
|
About the "Additional Information", they don't drop their equipment when they're off duty now. So half the bug is resolved :) |

Toady may need an up-to-date save (0.34.02+) to fix this problem. It would be helpful for someone to upload a save to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ and post the link here. |
