Summary0013147: Military attempt to equip items worn by incapacitated dwarves (even when forbidden)
DescriptionThis is a fringe case and would be difficult to reproduce. My military encountered a forgotten beast with a drowsiness poison that lasts forever. Now I have 4 dwarves in an endless sleep with full suits of steel. Leaving them in the military meant I couldn't raid but removing them caused some major problems for my world. Their equipment then became claimed by other military dwarves, causing them to strip off their armor. Since the incapacitated dwarves cannot remove their own armor, I now have some naked, unarmed military dwarves. Forbidding the equipment of my incapacitated dwarves does not remove them from randomly selected armor, although it does remove it from "specific weapon" / armor in the equipment screen. I suppose I could, claim all the forbidden armor again, then add them back to a coma squad, selecting "specific armor" to get all the things they have to remain on their person, but that sounds annoying and I won't be able to use my steel. The only option that remains is to kill my comatose dwarves. Sad.
Steps To ReproduceI feel the only way to reproduce this is to get very (un)lucky, use scripts, or raw mods with some maneuvering.
Essentially, you would need to assign dwarves to a military and allow them to equip weapons and armor. Then infect them with an interaction that gives them drowsiness 100 with no end. Then remove them from the military and assign new dwarves. You will then notice that forbidding the equipment won't stop other dwarves from attempting to equip it.

If you've already unassigned the armor from the squad with comatose soldiers, you can mark them for dumping and other dwarves will come and take them off the soldiers (make sure to have a dumping zone where you can reclaim the dumped armor later).
