| Summary | 0013459: Bolt value is much too high, the flat bonus is applied per-bolt | ||||
| Description | The vast majority of items in DF have a base value of 10. The more desirable trade goods are made with 1 item and tend to be at a base value of 25 or 30 (statues, mechanisms, goblets made in sets of three, times 10.) Masterwork silver bolts, however, base value 1 items, end up being worth twice as much as mw silver mechanisms. This came after the general value nerf to skill and quality. This was also when the flat bonus to quality was added for the first time. It turns out, best I can tell, that even though a bolt is a value 1 item, the +30 bonus from value gets added to each single one. This means a stack of masterwork bolts gets a whopping +750 value modifier - even if they're made out of cheap wood. A masterwork golden throne is worth 630. A stack of masterwork wood bolts is worth 800. | ||||
