| Description | For one cavern I got the "You have discovered a cavern" announcement after I had already entered the cavern. I have a save from before the announcement, but not one from before the site was first entered. | ||||

There are multiple layers of caverns - perhaps you just discovered another one? |

Pretty sure this is working as intended and not a bug. |

Yea, sometimes you will find passages down a level. It may also do that for a partially hidden passage to another section on the same level, which happened in one fort. So, yea its not really a bug. |

Oops, I should have been more specific. I was going down through a cave I'd found via getting a quest, found the tunnel down from the the cave into the cavern, and wandered around in the cavern for a bit before getting the "cavern found" message. |

You may have still found a connecting passage to the next cavern layer, though. Anyway, that save will probably be needed to clear things up (and to fix the bug if there is one). |

Do you still have the "save from before the announcement" that you mentioned? |
