| Description | For some reason, I see fish spawning in filled water chambers that have been cut off by floodgates. The chamber is 3x3 with a closed and linked floor hatch and a closed and linked floodgate along one wall that leads to a feeder tunnel, which is also sealed off with multiple flood gates that eventually lead out to the river. | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Dig out empty chambers. Build flood gates to seal them off. Build Levers in area outside intended water flow areas. Link Levers to Gates. Flood the passages. Open the gates by pulling the lever(s). Once chamber is full, Pull the lever(s) again to close the gates. Wait... | ||||
| Additional Information | I am not sure what triggers this. The current fortress has been abandoned and reclaimed twice now. Each time the abandonment happens, all the chambers are full of water and contain no fish. When i come back, the chambers are still full, and sometimes have fish in them. I do notice that the fish icons tend to blink in and out of existence, much like the birds and other critters do. I have seen this happen with various types of fish in multiple forts. One positive side effect is that it gets rid of the "nothing to catch" messages. I can provide a save that has "fish in the tank", as it were, if needed. I'm actually tempted to just channel out over the top of these pools and use them for fishing... :) | ||||

I believe it was ever thus. Fish, like all vermin, spawn wherever water is, sealed or not. Not a bug. |
