| OS | Windows Vista | OS Version | Home Premium | ||
| Product Version | 0.31.03 | ||||
| Summary | 0001491: Image Exports either Tiled Screenshots or Blank | ||||
| Description | This problem isn't just limited to legends mode, but I assume they're linked and the problems seem primarily a legends mode thing.. When trying to export images from DF 0.31.03, my laptop outputs, rather than the requested display, either a plain black image (all Legends mode image exports) or a shot of the current screen tiled to fill the space the correct export would have taken up (World-Gen image export and Dwarf Mode layer exports). | ||||
| Steps To Reproduce | Legends Mode: Enter Legends mode, and request an image file export of any sort. Dwarf Mode: Esc > Export Local Image > e End of World-Gen > p | ||||
| Additional Information | This problem is not intermittent, and seems limited to the laptop, given my Windows 7 desktop behaves fine under the same circumstances. This problem did not occur with any of the earlier 40d releases. | ||||

Since you're on Vista, where is your DF folder located, and have you tried giving in Administrator privileges? (IE: Run as Admin option) I'll admit this doesn't occur on my Win 7 setup either. |

DF is saved under a custom path, D:\Dwarf Fortress\df_31_03\, however the same problem occurs if under the same path but on drive C:\ Trying with admin privileges/'Run as Administrator'.. .. Problem solved in all instances o.O Huh, thank you. |

Glad to hear that it's worked out now. There's a bit of read/write weirdness on Vista/Seven due to UAC, and since DF writes to folders quite a lot it can cause issues. I'm betting this map http://mkv25.net/dfma/map-8588-fgt is an example of what you were experiencing. Anyways, Footkerchief, if you're reading this, I guess you can close it? |

Bizarre. We should probably write down all these Vista/7 oddities in one place. I came across this one by chance, but if you want to draw my attention to an issue that should be closed, the "CLOSE THIS" tag will do the job. |
