| Description | I have only one civilization that is showing up to trade, and that is the Dwarves. However, when they arrive, they are announced as Elves. Even stranger, the Dwarven Diplomat appears as "E" on my screen, and if you study her, her description is that of an Elf. However, when she negotiates, she says she is from the Mountainhome, and that our fortunes rise and fall together. My poor Expedition Leader must be VERY confused. I don't know whether this is at all related, but just in case: I am also experiencing the already-reported bug where the dwarves didn't bring wagons after the first year. | ||||

This can happen when the dwarves conquer elves during world generation, and assimilate the elves into their society. As long as the diplomat functions properly (makes trade agreements etc.) and doesn't destroy your buildings (0000596), this is intended behavior. Does that clear things up? |

Not a bug, it happens in 40D. It just means that your dwarven civ conquered the elves sometime and an elf later became a liason. It can happen with goblins as well. |
