| Summary | 0001660: Stone Traps will not reset. | ||||
| Description | Some stone traps were triggered by a fox. The stones are on the ground after the triggering but have not been reset after a great bit of time. More then one dwarf has trap/engineering labor. | ||||

Are the traps forbidden? 't' over them to view their components -- if any of the components are forbidden, the trap is forbidden, and they won't reload it. |
Also, the new stone used is not always the one used in the previous loading, so stone fall traps may accumulate, err, "fall-out" |
Is the trap symbol the darker gray or the lighter almost white one? The lighter one means it's been reloaded with another stone. Arguably the stone that was just dropped *should* be the closest one, and thus the one used for the reload. Might want to check into that even if the traps are being reloaded correctly. My traps get reloaded correctly on 0.31.03, so if they're not getting loaded it's some kind of environmental problem. |

A dwarf will pick the closest stone to him at the time he accepts the reload trap job, not the closest stone to the trap. Its possible for heavily used stonefall traps to have huge piles of stones. Each time its loaded, fires, and then a new stone is hauled to reload it rather than the new stone. It depends on where your meeting zone is compared to where stones are and where your traps are. Press T and view the trap. There should be a stone and a mechanism in the trap. Is there one? |

sombrenote, without answers to the questions above, this report will go in the "unable to reproduce" pile. |

Not Forbidden or Dumped. The Traps are white, which I means that they have been loaded. The confusing part is the dwarves did not use the rock that was setting on the trap at first. So I must have been confused because I would expect them to use the closest stone. Thank you for your help guys. |

Ah, okay, glad there's nothing too weird going on. It's probable that the dwarves that got assigned the reloading job just picked up a rock that was close to themselves at the time. |
