| Description | I recently downloaded DF. I saved the game I was in, and upon attempting to load, the game stopped responding and eventually shut itself off. I tried again about 10 times, sometimes changing priority, running as admin, closing all other windows, &c, and combinations thereof with no success. | ||||

Did you install the game in Program Files? If so, install it somewhere else instead. Vista doesn't play nice with that. |

I installed it on desktop("address" C:\Users\Rotary\Desktop). There is no mention of it in program files. |

Little update. Upon trying to upload the second game I saved(saved earlier today), it worked. Does it normally do that, or...? |

Usually the first save should also load just fine. Are you on a 64-bit system? That's suspected to be linked to save corruption during the compression process. If you keep getting saves that don't load, you can try turning off COMPRESSED_SAVES in /data/init/init.txt. |
