Summary0000172: Animal traps catch animals, remain on map, but are now unusable.
DescriptionI laid a number of animal traps around my fortress to see what I could catch with them. I've never used them in previous versions but it seems strange to me that whenever I catch something in one of these traps, the dwarf that learned of the caught animal immediately falls asleep next to the trap. Afterwards, the trap is slated for removal (I hit 'q' and move over the trap, that's when it tells me it's been set up to be removed.) Once a dwarf comes around to do the removal, he stays there for a while... then he wanders off to go do something else, leaving the trap. However, once he's gone rolling over the trap with 'q' reveals that it's no longer there... but looking at it with 'k' says that it is, along with the animal that was caught in it earlier. I can't seem to do anything with this trap now, or with the animal caught in it... I am assuming that this is a bug...
Steps To Reproduce1. Lay a wooden animal trap
2. Bait it with fish
3. Repeat until you catch something.
4. The Dwarf who finds it will fall asleep (Bug 0000001?)
5. The Dwarf will wake up and walk away, leaving it to be removed by someone else.
6. Another dwarf will come to remove the trap, removing it's 'tasks' but leaving both the animal caught and the trap itself, with no way to interact with the trap. (Bug 0000002?)
Additional InformationI've had this happen twice in my current fortress, I haven't tried to do it with meat or a large gem yet. Both times I've caught something, the dwarf has fallen asleep right next to the trap... This COULD be because he didn't have a bed to sleep in, but it seems odd that it happened both times right next to the trap just as it told me I caught the animal. (First a rat and then a lizard.)

Ack, looks like I messed up on part of that... Oh well, let it be known that there are two bugs here... and neither of them correspond with the links in the steps to reproduce area...

The sleeping is probably a coincidence. As for traps being unusable -- once the trap catches something, it becomes more like a cage for the animal. Once the animal is tamed, eaten or otherwise removed, the trap should become available again.

If the cage isn't moving try to build an Animal stockpile and see if the dorfs move it

Actually, I've done that. The traps have been moved. I'm still not entirely certain how to remove the animal, but it does seem to be acting like a cage, so that's not a bug afterall. I'll see if dwarfs continue to fall asleep by the remaining cages.
