You made it out of metal blocks/bars, so it needs metalsmithing. Had you built it out of stone (or glass), it would have requird masonry (and carpentry for wood, but you can't build furnaces out of wood anyways). This is true for all buildings that require Architecture to build - archery targets, bridges, furnaces, paved roads, screw pumps, shops, supports, trade depots, water wheels, wells, and windmills. |
