Steps To ReproduceGet a fisherdwarf to fish at any body of water and wait until a carp becomes enraged or something.

What do you mean by "virtually nothing left"? Also I have no idea what "Carp could not just kill a fisherdwarf" means.

Carp have always been a severe threat to dwarves because dwarves cannot swim, and they tend to accidentally dodge into the water where they drown. Rivers/ponds have no ramps and so the dwarf cannot climb out of the water. Thats why carp are so dangerous.

Try looking for the dwarfs corpse\gear through the stocks menu. It looks like you might be getting hit with bug 0000895

Maybe the carp and dwarf fought, the dwarf drowned, and then by the time it was noticed the body had rotted away? Thats the only thing I can think of, but that shouldn't happen. Individual bones can rot away, but partial skeletons should not. A dwarf can rot away to a partial skeleton, but there's still Urist McDead's partial skeleton sitting there forever.
